Introtaract; Rotaract in a nutshell, was a platform where the new Rotaractors could meet the experienced Rotaractors to gain knowledge and experience from them. This project was done as an introduction to Rotaract that targeted to fill the knowledge gap of the new Rotaract board members, general members and anyone interested in knowing how Rotaract functions at the beginning of the new Rotaract year.

Introtaract was formulated by Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Medicine with the aid of Rotary Club of Colombo North, Rotaract Club of Singer Sri Lanka and the Rotaract Club of Imperial College of Business Studies. It was held on the 18th of July 2020 from 2.30pm onwards via Zoom. Introtaract was done with the intent of enabling Rotaractors as well as others to get an overview of Rotaract while inspiring the audience to join the Rotaract movement and motivating them to be proactive and take leadership in the movement. The initial planning was done by the Presidents and the secretaries of the host clubs in a meeting on 9th of July 2020 via Zoom. Decisions were taken to form a dedicated organizing committee and a WhatsApp group to help ease the planning. Duration of the session, a tentative date and guest speakers were chosen. The logo for the Project was designed by Rtr. Thanuja kotawalagedara. A paid Zoom account was obtained through the courtesy of the Rotaract club of Athugalpura.

Public Relations for the project were done in 3 stages by the Rotaract club of Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. A flyer created by Rtr. Thanuja Kotawalagedara was shared among the host clubs, members and others via WhatsApp and Facebook a week prior to the event and also an open invitation was sent to all the District Council Members. During the event, the project was live streamed via Facebook Live on the host clubs’ Facebook pages. This was done by Rtr.Deedat Safeer on theRotaract Club of Faculty of Medicine facebook page. As a Post event PR, The live streamed video of the event was shared in the social media platforms of the host clubs. This was done by Rtr.Deedat Safeer on the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Medicine facebook page.

The Project was chaired by Rtr.Thanuja Kotawalagedara. Rtr.Deedat Safeer and Rtr Shanya Mudannayake who handled the public relations, Rtr Chathumi Dassanayake and Rtr Udara Rajapakse who handled documentation, and Rtr Afrah Niyas who moderated the session were the organizing committee of the project.

It was held on the 18th of July 2020 from 2.30pm onwards via Zoom. The experience of well renowned persons in Rotaract was shared with the audience. The speakers were PDRR RTN Amjath Yoosuf, PDRR Rtn.Mohamed Husni and ADRR Rtr.PP Ahamed Hussain.They mainly focused on the key areas of history of this youth movement and how it evolved to the platform it is today, how Rotaract has helped mold them into the leaders they are today with challenges and how Rotaract can not only lead to personal development but also the development of the society as a whole.

Through this project the gist of Rotaract was brought to the viewers to help them effectively engage in the new Rotaract year and take their stance as leaders in the movement.
