Challenges We faced
This webinar was held in the middle of the quarantine period and it was a challenge to organise a webinar for the first time from our club. We were able to obtain a data free zoom link thanks to our Dean Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo and the senior treasurer of our club. As we were supposed to hold this during an election period, it was a quite a good opportunity for us to grab the attention of the youth to the importance of prevention of Covid 19 during their projects.
Phase 2 – Covid 19, a booklet that contains all about Covid 19. The content is available in all 3 languages. The aim of this booklet is to provide information on Covid 19 for the general public. The content of the book was decided and medical students decided themselves to write down the articles which are to be included in the booklet. The articles which needed to be validated were sent to lecturers who are experts in the medical field from our faculty for validation. All the designing and editing were done by our fellow rotaractors from our club. The booklet will be released soon.
Duration – September 2020 – March 2021
Phase 3 – Are we ready for the next pandemic? A conference to discuss the matters that can give rise to future pandemics and how to face them.
